Lusa
Persian Clover
Lusa is an erect Winter growing annual, capable of excellent Winter and Spring growth.
Strengths:
- Good hard seed levels
- Suited to clay soils, with a tolerance to mildly saline soil
- Well adapted to high rainfall zones that suffer from waterlogging in normal waters
- Suited to hay or silage, with fast regrowth allowing for a second cut.
Pasture type and use:
A late maturing, highly productive Persian clover that is suited to high rainfall areas that suffer from waterlogging in Winter.
Lusa retains excellent feeding value as dry standing hay during dry weather.
Rainfall:
Lusa is suited to tainfall areas of 500mm+ and seasonal irrigation.
Sowing:
Sow at a depth of 5mm or broadcast onto a finely worked weed free seed bed and cover lightly.
Sow in mid/late Autumn (dry land) or early February (irrigated).
Sowing rates:
5-10kg/Ha alone.
3-7kg/Ha in a mix.
